Compass Group Consultants, LP is
an independent provider of IT audit and information security services,
and has considerable proficiency and experience in the areas of information
technology, IT audit, risk assessment, information security, and strategic
planning. We strive to provide value-added services by understanding your
organization's strategic direction and management philosophy, and by working
in tandem with information systems groups and business units. Through
these processes we also maintain appropriate organizational and functional independence.

Organizational Fit -
Internal Audit and Information Security do not exist in a vacuum.
Our deep experience helps us understand the relationships between
critical business functions and information technology. We know
that you have to audit through the system as well as around the
system. We also know that people ultimately are the business and
good business process can break down under pressure from poor practice.
We have the technical skills, hands-on IT experience and management
know-how needed to build solid rapport with business units and technical
staff while maintaining Internal Audit independence.
Business Impact - We strive
to understand the business impact of IT audit comments and consulting
recommendations. We recognize that the IT internal control environment
is integral to the Bank's business processes. We also know that
it's not feasible to fully implement every known control. There
may be compensating or downstream controls. Where preventive controls
are not available or feasible, detective controls may suffice. A small
organization may not have the resources or the staff to separate functions
as completely as most large companies can. In some cases, management
may choose to assume risk rather than implement mitigation strategies.
We acknowledge this control and security versus productivity push-pull
and attempt to make recommendations that appropriately consider implementation
cost and feasibility.
Communications -
In any relationship, strong communications are a critical success
factor. Breakdowns in communications create some of the most
difficult problems experienced between consulting companies
and clients. Requirements and expectations need to be clearly
communicated in order to accurately hit project targets. Project
progress and scheduling needs to be clearly communicated in
order to accurately hit budgets. Compass Group Consultants focuses
on relationship-based communications and fosters peer-to-peer
interaction to build rapport and provide multiple communications
links between Compass Group and our clients.
Service - Many of these issues
may be generally acceptable in business relationships, but overall engagement
success will be seriously
impaired if there are problems with end product delivery. Board audit
committee meeting and examination deadlines simply have to be met. Compass
Group recognizes and appropriately emphasizes customer service through
timely product delivery. That is not to say we will sacrifice quality
in view of a pressing deadline or that we will hit every target date.
That's where the communications part comes into play.
